Rewriting and Revising

The Tonkinese

I’ve been tasked with rewriting, reformatting and revising a screenplay. The team has blocked the scenes and made a rough storyboard, now all they need to do is finalize the screenplay. It’s due this evening which is a bit tight but I believe I can do the job. Reformatting isn’t hard, but I have to make sure that the scenes have continuity and that any missing detail is added into it.

Last night was fun, my brother (who’s the director and colorist) and one of his friends (who’s the cinematographer/director of photography and editor) were working on the screenplay and storyboarding at our house. It was exhilarating, fulfilling and fun to be able to work in a team on something that you’re passionate about. We discussed, argued and pitched ideas left and right for several scenes, trying to come up with the one we think best. However, since the other stakeholders and producers weren’t there, we really couldn’t decide on our own. We have to pitch these ideas back to them.

Casting’s going to start so I’ll keep you posted on that process so that any new aspiring actors can have a chance at it. Thank you to all of you who’ve been reading my blogs and welcome to any new readers out there. Stay tuned, I’ll be keeping you all posted on the development of this new film!
